All applicants are required to meet the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. Citizen
- A valid Texas Driver's License
- No history of criminal or improper conduct that may affect suitability
- Never convicted, placed on deferred adjudication or probation or under indictment for any felony
- Must not be on probation or deferred adjudication
- No criminal offense above the grade of Class B or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years
- Never been convicted of any family violence offense
- Military honorable discharge
- Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift, and work weekends and holidays
- Must not be related by blood or marriage to any current Brazos County Sheriff's Office employee
- Must pass an extensive background investigation
